Summer Wine Makes Us Feel Fine!

Summer is here and we have so much to look forward to! From getting to see all of your sun-tanned faces back in our store to new seasonal wines and exciting wine-tasting events; we have one fun-filled summer ahead of us!

While most of you know about and are looking forward to the return of Mellow Blush, our Watermelon White Merlot (which just hit shelves, by the way!), we have a few new surprises in store for you this year! We will be introducing Musical Medley,  a limited-edition, tropical fruit Chardonnay! A large portion of the profits from this wine will benefit the Lake George Community Band, so now you have an extra reason to feel good about drinking Adirondack Winery wine!

We are also excited to announce that we will be selling our Pinot Grigio, Prospect Mountain White and Fireworks Red Merlot in convenient Astrapouches this summer! Astrapouches hold two, 750ml bottles of wine and can be re-sealed to maintain freshness over a longer period of time. This means you can now take Adirondack Winery wine with you out on your boat, to barbeques and picnics, and even the racetrack without the worry of a glass bottle. Just throw the Astrapouch in your cooler and go! Astrapouches hit shelves soon and will be sold in-store only, so make sure you plan your visit(s) to Adirondack Winery early this summer!

If all of this wasn’t exciting enough for you, Adirondack Winery is also introducing a Summer Happy Hour Series! Every Wednesday from June 20^th – July 25^th (excluding July 4^th) will be Wine Wednesday at Adirondack Winery from 4pm – 7pm. During these times we will be whipping up some delicious, wine cocktails and providing samples to all customers who purchase a regular wine tasting during that time. We will also be passing out recipe cards so you can make these fun, summer drinks at home! Any ingredients and store products used in the recipes will be an additional 10% off during that time, so you won’t want to miss out!

Like I said, this is going to be one fun, wine-filled summer! The fun starts this weekend with the annual Elvis Festival, followed by Americade next weekend and don’t forget the Big Apple Circus comes to town in July! Adirondack WINERY ADDS TWO GOLD MEDAL WINS AT TASTERS GUILD INTERNATIONAL WINE COMPETITION

LAKE GEORGE, NY (June 2, 2011):  Adirondack Winery is proud to announce that four more of its wines can be counted amongst its growing list of award winning wines. At the recently held 24th Annual Tasters Guild International Competition, Adirondack Winery’s Amethyst Sunset (Blackberry Merlot) and Prospect Mountain White (Peach Chardonnay) were awarded Gold Medals; while its Winter Concerto (White Chocolate Port) won Silver and Muscat took home Bronze.

Tasters Guild International is a Wine and Food Appreciation Society based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This year’s wine competition brought 30 experienced wine industry experts together to judge the wines submitted from all over the world. “We are particularly pleased to have earned gold medals at this competition, as we only entered four wines and this was an International competition, where our wines were judged alongside 1,847 wines entered by 335 wineries from 11 countries,” said Adirondack Winery President, Sasha Pardy.

With this latest competition, Adirondack Winery is proud to say that 22 of its wines have earned 39 medals at International wine competitions; which now includes four gold medal-winning wines. Adirondack Winery’s Pinot Grigio and Semillon wines recently earned Gold medals at the 2011 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition, which was held March 26, 2011.

To create these wines, Michael Pardy, Adirondack Winery’s CEO and wine maker, sources high quality grape must from California. The wines are crafted in stainless steel tanks at the Pardy’s newly relocated and expanded wine making facility in Queensbury. The Gold medal-winning Amethyst Sunset  is a semi-sweet, light-bodied Merlot infused with blackberry. The Prospect Mountain White is a light, semi-sweet Chardonnay infused with Peach.

The wine labels on these award winning wines were created by Sasha Pardy and feature photographs of landscapes and landmarks of the local region. The Amethyst Sunset (Blackberry Merlot) label features the sun setting at the close of the Adirondack Balloon Festival. The Prospect Mountain White (Peach Chardonnay) boasts an exceptional view of Lake George taken from Prospect Mountain.
